We are a cooperative 100% owned by small-scale farmers in Peru, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, and Ethiopia. Our farmers control each step of the process – from the farm to you – and receive 100% of the benefits of doing so. This means better coffee for you and a higher quality of life for family farmers.

2. We come from humble beginnings.

Raúl del Aguila, a farmer advocate and leader of coffee farmers from Quillabamba, Peru, asked: "Why can’t farmers roast and sell their own coffee?”. In 2006, Raúl and the farmers of COCLA led the formation of Pachamama Coffee in the USA.

3. We’re a cooperative of farmers.

We are a coffee cooperative of more than 140,000 small-scale farmers. By pooling smallholder farmers' resources, Pachamama is able to provide stable pricing and services that give hope to family farmers around the world.

4. We’re Certified Organic.

We are committed to providing our customers with some of the highest quality coffee in the world. All of our coffee is Certified Organic by C.C.O.F.. Our farmers use organic methods of fertilization and pest control. Small is good.

5. We’re accountable to farmers.

It’s reasonable to question a coffee company that claims to give 100% of the profits back to their farmers. But we don't "give" anything to farmers, because they own and control this company. And they choose make democracy and transparency a priority.

6. We’re experts at roasting coffee.

Our roasters have over 20 years of experience and know how to reveal the best of each coffee we roast. We roast-to-order daily in small batches in California and usually ship within 72 hours. All coffee is sealed with a freshness valve in a high quality package.
